Find a Kids Fur Coat to Keep Your Child Warm This Winter

Winter is a great time to find a cute kids fur coat that will keep your child warm. Kids coats can be insulated with either down or synthetic materials. The down variety has a luxurious look and feel to it, but is also a lot easier to maintain. Down jackets are usually machine washable, with the added benefit that you don't have to use tennis balls to fluff them up after each washing. Synthetic insulation is often used in kids coats too, because it can be tossed right into the dryer and still come out looking great.

Faux fur is another popular option for kids. It comes in a variety of styles, including faux fur coats, hats, head bands and hand muffs, and even collars. It's easy to match a kids fur coat with any outfit, and you'll find that your little one will love the way it looks.

If your child is in need of a new coat this year, there are plenty of opportunities to donate at Hannaford Supermarkets and Shaw's locations throughout the state. The Coats for Kids program began 35 years ago by the Salvation Army, and NEWS CENTER Maine joined in 7 years later to create the annual Coats and Toys for Kids campaign. Donation boxes are placed at all Hannaford stores and Shaw's locations in the state, as well as at Pratt-Abbott Cleaners in Portland.
