Fur Coat Pokemon - How it Works and How it Can Help Your Team

A Fur Coat Pokemon is a Pokemon that is equipped with an Ability called Fur Coat. The Ability allows the Pokemon to take a lot less damage from physical attacks, which is impressive. However, Fur Coat does not have any effect outside of battle. Luckily, a Fur Coat Pokemon can also be caught by catching a wild Pokemon. In this article, we will explore how a Fur Coat Pokemon works and how it can help your team.

Using Fur Coat in a battle is a great way to deal with a sweeper or a Pokemon that has a special ability. However, there are a few things to watch out for. For instance, Fur Coat does not increase the Defense of a Pokemon, so it's not as good as a Mega Mewtwo X. Similarly, a Fur Coat Chansey is not as good as a Sturdy Shedinja. Nonetheless, a Fur Coat Chansey can take a lot of punishment and retaliate with a Metal Burst.

If you want to use a Fur Coat Pokemon in a competitive matchup, be sure to plan ahead. Especially if you're facing a Mega Gengar or a Mega Rayquaza. These two Pokemon have an Ability that enables them to counter Chansey: Spooky Plate. When faced with these moves, you're forced to pick a plate that will hit Chansey the hardest, and this can be a difficult choice. While this isn't an exact science, there are ways to work around it.

One of the more interesting uses of the Fur Coat is to turn Chansey into a powerful physical wall. It can take a lot of hits, but it isn't hit by most coverage moves. This makes Fur Coat Chansey an excellent mixed wall. Ideally, you'll have a team that can support it with a Heal Bell and Aromatherapy, so that it can wall up its opponents.

Moreover, a Fur Coat Chansey has access to a number of important tools, including Eviolite and Lucky Punch. Using Eviolite is especially valuable as it doubles Chansey's Defense. As an added bonus, a Fur Coat Chansey will also be immune to Mega Gengar's Judgment. Taking a peek at its HP stats, you can see that this is actually a big deal.

In a similar vein, the Metal Burst is a pretty impressive move. It can potentially OHKO a foe. However, it can only be used if you have a fast enough user, and it can be cancelled out by status moves. Likewise, the Spiky Shield is a great alternative to King's Shield, and does not affect the Attack stat of your opponent.

Overall, Fur Coat Chansey is a great way to bolster your team's defenses against the likes of Mega Gengar and Mega Rayquaza. However, it does come with a few drawbacks, such as its lack of resistance to Spore and Knock Off. Also, a Fur Coat Chansey doesn't have the bulk of a Sturdy Shedinja. Finally, a Fur Coat Chansey should never be counted as a catch-all for a setup sweeper.
