How to Care For a Cashmere Cape

A cashmere cape is the perfect accessory to transform any outfit.cashmere cape It’s warm, light and versatile and makes the ideal gift for any woman, especially fashion savvy women who appreciate quality and luxury.

Our pure cashmere capes are expertly woven using the finest quality cashmere yarns that are lusciously soft and deliciously warm. They’re also beautifully lined with a sumptuous satin/polyester lining (except black color). These capes are truly elegant and luxurious and they make the perfect gift for discerning women who appreciate quality and comfort.

We have chosen the highest quality cashmere from Inner Mongolia and hand-woven it in Italy in a traditional frame loom by our skilled and experienced craftsmen. During the weaving process we always use two-ply yarns that are thicker than single-ply, thus ensuring stability and resistance to washing and less pilling. Once the cape has been woven it is left to settle for a day and then washed again in order to remove any excess water and to give the fabric its customary softness, and finally ironed before packing and shipping.

To care for your cashmere shawl or cape we recommend hand-washing it in cold or lukewarm water. Please don’t twist or stretch the garment during washing and don’t wring it, just let it gently massage in the water. When you’re done, just press out the water and allow the shawl or cape to dry flat on a clean bath towel. Never put it in a dryer as heat is bad for cashmere and can damage the delicate fibres. If you need to speed up the drying process, use a cool, low temperature setting and place it in a mesh basket to reduce the chance of pulling or tearing of the threads.

After the cape has been washed and dried it will be ready to wear again – it will feel even softer and more beautiful than before. We also recommend that you store your cashmere shawl or cape in a clean, airtight bag or in a drawer to protect it from dirt and dust.

One of our favourite ways to wear a cashmere cape is as a shawl - drape it loosely over your shoulders and wrap it around yourself to stay warm and comfortable, or button it and belt it for a more structured look. It’s also perfect to wear over a formal dress for an extra pop of style.
